Tripartite Workgroup for the Prevention of Abuse and Harassment of HCWs
We wish to highlight the recent announcement regarding the findings and recommendations of the Tripartite Workgroup for the Prevention of Abuse and Harassment of Healthcare Workers (HCWs).
Please refer to the following links for details of the Ministry of Health (MOH) announcement:
SMA extends its appreciation to the Workgroup for confirming the scale of the problem faced by healthcare workers and for the recommendations, which include a standardised zero-tolerance policy.
We also thank MOH for setting up the Workgroup and for engaging with SMA on the Workgroup's findings and recommendations prior to public release.
To SMA Members who participated in the process as Workgroup members or as respondents to the surveys and focus group discussions, thank you for providing your feedback and input.
The issue of abuse and harassment of HCWs will not disappear overnight, and SMA will continue to advocate for both doctors and patients alike.
