SMJ Monthly CME Quiz

The Singapore Medical Journal (SMJ) hosts monthly continuing medical education (CME) articles with online CME quizzes that have been pre-approved for the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Category 3B CME Programme. In each monthly issue of the SMJ, at least two CME articles with online quizzes are published. Access to SMJ CME quizzes that are claimable for non-core points is complimentary for SMA members in good standing and chargeable for non-SMA members. CME quizzes that are claimable for Mandatory Medical Ethics (MME) core points are complimentary and open only to SMA members in good standing.

The passing mark for each quiz is 60%. The SMJ Editorial Office will submit the list of successful candidates to the SMC† after the closing date of the CME programme. For SMA members, the results of the online quizzes will be reflected in their SMA user account one week after the closing date of the CME programme.

The SMC credits CME points according to the month of publication of the CME article (i.e. points awarded for a quiz published in the December 2024 issue will be credited for the month of December 2024, even if the quiz deadline is in January 2025). Doctors are advised to check their personal CME Report regularly to monitor their CME point status for their current qualifying period. They can do so by logging into their CME account via the SMC Online System.
