Executive, Business & Partnership Development

You will report to the Head of Department and support her in achieving sales and partnership targets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop advertisement and partnership platforms that will contribute to revenue growth.
  • Grow and manage potential/current partners, and work with them to provide useful medical content and other promotions for the SMA membership.
  • Coordinate with clients on timely receipt of promotional materials, and accreditation for medical events and talks.
  • Responsible for the classified ads section, including the processing of orders and uploading of ads.
  • Follow up with clients on the prompt settlement of billings
  • Prepare and present sales and other reports as required.

Pre-requisites:

  • Diploma in Sales & Marketing or equivalent with one to 2 years of relevant experience in medical publications (newsletter and journal) preferred. Non-diploma holders with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and medical product industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently and as a team.

Assistant Manager - Membership Services

Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Manager for Membership Services, you will lead a service-oriented team and have the following responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the various Membership committees and internal departments to develop and execute membership recruitment, retention, and recognition strategies.
  • To proactively engage members by developing relevant activities and providing quality services through internal development or external partnerships.
  • To develop initiatives to increase the value of the SMA membership, including securing attractive deals through strategic partnerships.
  • To develop an effective communications strategy and engage members through relevant and timely dissemination of information, including regular updates of the membership pages on the SMA website.
  • To ensure the membership database is kept up-to-date and relevant.
  • To organise networking and social activities, e.g. Wine Chapter, golf and soccer tournaments, Inter-Professional Games, and other interest groups.
  • To support the work of the various Membership Committees, including organising meetings, writing minutes, and following up on action items.
  • To review and enhance work processes so as to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of membership services.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field, preferably marketing, communications, events management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, with supervisory responsibilities in a membership services environment, undertaking project/event execution duties.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. A flair for design will be an advantage.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and creative solution-finder with a positive attitude.
  • Strong project management skills and meticulous.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a not-for-profit, volunteer-focused environment.

Job Description

You will report to the Head of Department for the function and processes of sales and partnership of the Association, including the recruiting and retaining of partners and sponsors to support the work of the Association.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Submit applications for accreditation of talks.
  • Responsible for the classified ads section, including the processing of orders.
  • Upload online ads and job postings on the SMA website and SMJ Online.
  • Mail out publications to all advertisers when publications are released.
  • Follow up with clients on the prompt settlement of billings.
  • Prepare and present sales and other reports as required.
