On Friday, 25 July 2025, the SMA NK Yong Wine Chapter gathered for an evening of wine, food and camaraderie at Empire Fine Chinese Cuisine, Ngee Ann City. The theme was SMA Pinot Confrérie, and participating doctors brought a wide selection of Pinots from around the world to share. The event, organised by Dr Yvonne Chung, Chairperson of the Wine Chapter, saw a lively turnout of three tables of 11 diners each.
The dinner featured an exquisite selection of Pinots, each with unique characteristics and flavour profiles, perfectly paired with a sumptuous Chinese dinner which included dishes such as Sautéed Crab Meat with Egg White in Italian Black & White Truffle Oil, Thick Soup with Shredded Abalone, and Steamed Soon Hock Fish in Superior Soy Sauce, among others.
The evening was filled with lively discussions and debates as doctors shared their love of wine and good food. The event also highlighted the diversity and richness of the wine world, as guests sipped and tasted Pinots from various regions and vintages. The sharing of wines and knowledge among attendees was a highlight, with many discovering new wines and appreciating fellow wine lovers' expertise.

Inspired by his passion for wine and conviviality, the group aims to share the joy of wine appreciation and foster camaraderie among its members, reflecting Dr Yong's philosophy that wine is a drink to be enjoyed in the company of friends.
