The SMA Honorary Memberships and Merit Awards are traditionally given out during SMA's Annual Dinner, but prevailing COVID-19 restrictions have meant that the dinners for 2020 and 2021 had to be cancelled. As such, alternative arrangements were made for the conferment and awards to be presented to the recipients. We are thus glad to have SMA President Dr Tan Yia Swam present the 2020 Honorary Memberships to Prof Chee Yam Cheng and Prof Phua Kong Boo, who were invited to the SMA office to receive their awards. The Merit Awards were sent out to the five well-deserving doctors respectively. SMA congratulates our 2020 Honorary Members and Merit Award recipients once again and thank them for their patience and understanding in these pandemic times.
