The Healthcare Administrators Interest Group (HAIG) held its first event of the year, the Healthcare Administrator Fireside Chat, on 13 March 2025 at Cafe Melba, Mediapolis.
Adj Prof Raymond Chua, CEO of the Health Sciences Authority and Deputy Director-General of Health (Health Regulation) at the Ministry of Health, graced the event and shared his insights on his personal journey in healthcare administration. Drawing on his extensive experience in regulatory, management and operational roles in both public healthcare and private sectors, Prof Chua engaged the audience on various topics with his riveting anecdotes and expert opinions.
The subsequent question and answer session was lively, with many participants engaging in thoughtful discussion. Moderated by HAIG Chairperson Dr Roland Xu, the event and discussions fostered a warm and interactive atmosphere, allowing attendees to connect with each other on a deeper level.
The evening's relaxed setting, complete with food and free-flow soft drinks, juices and red wine, encouraged mingling and networking. Even after the restaurant closed for the night, the group continued their conversations outside under the full moon.
The event's success was evident in the participants' reluctance to leave, with everyone having a thoroughly enjoyable time. HAIG looks forward to organising more engaging events in the future, bringing together healthcare administrators to share knowledge, experiences and camaraderie.
