The Annual National Medico-Legal Seminar 2024

6 CME Point(s)
Subject to SMC's approval

Join us for an engaging conference which aims to help medical practitioners and lawyers keep pace with the evolving landscape of informed consent in Singapore. We will track the dynamic shifts in legal obligations surrounding the duty to advise, while also forecasting the implications of the recent Section 37 amendment to the Civil Law Act on medical and legal practice.

Led by legal experts and seasoned clinicians, this conference offers a guided exploration of case precedents and practical scenarios to help participants gain insights into the practical application of the legal and ethical principles of informed consent in real-world contexts.

The conference also features interactive forums to allow participants to exchange perspectives and engage in collaborative learning with a diverse panel of experts from both private and public sectors.

  • Section 37 of the Civil Law Act
  • The Duty to Advise: Informed Consent Best Practices
  • Consent in Real Life - How do practicing doctors balance time & resources with adequate counselling and documentation of consent?
