"SMA 40th Anniversary Celebrations"
"Changing of the Seasons - Are you Prepared?"
A series of bilingual public forums was organised monthly over 3 months, beginning from January 1999, culminating in the main Convention, which will be held on 25 April 1999 at the Westin Stamford. The Committee has decided to focus on elderly issues once again this year as it is designated by the United Nations International Year of Older Persons. Mr Abdullah Tarmugi, Minister for Community Development will be the Guest-of-Honour for the opening ceremony of the Convention.

Dr Siau Chiang designed a special 40th Anniversary logo, which is reflected in all the office stationery.
MEMENTO FOR EVERY SMA MEMBER
Together with this issue of the SMJ, you will receive a specially designed coaster as a memento to celebrate the Anniversary.
40TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE SMJ
This issue of the SMJ is a special commemorative issue. This special issue features interviews with past Presidents of SMA, and articles on the milestones of SMA in the last 40 years.
40TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER
The Dinner will be held on 1 May 1999 at the Regent Hotel. Mr Yeo Cheow Tong, Minister for Health will be the Guest-of-Honour for the evening. Overseas delegates such as the Presidents of MASEAN countries, among other VIPs from the Ministry of Health, SMA Honorary Members, SMA Lecturers, past SMA Presidents and Presidents of other Professional Associations have also been invited to attend the Dinner.
