"SMA Annual Golf Championship 1998"
The 1998 SMA Annual Golf Championship was held on 14 October 1998 at Orchid Country club. The SMA golfers turned up to pit their skills against the course and amongst their flight mates.
The heavy showers of blessing before the tournament ensured the ideal weather and course conditions by 1.30pm.
The returning scores of both the A, B and female divisions were decent and with excessive complaints of difficult course layout or excuses of hot weather. By 6.30pm all golfers were back at the Emerald Suite for buffet dinner.
In spite of the present economic climate the organising committee has been able to secure sponsorships of prizes for all participants and lucky draw prizes. The hole-in-one prize of a Mercedes 200 was once again returned to the Cycle & Carriage as there was no winner for this category.
The organising committee would like to thank all sponsors and would like to acknowledge the sponsorship in 2 particular trophies by Dr Lo Hong Ling and Dr Ling Chaw Ming.
We would also like to thank SMA President Dr Cheong Pak Yean and Dr Jimmy Choo for giving away the prizes. We also like to thank all participants and hope to see everyone next year.
